What is body painting?

Body painting is the art of creating temporary designs on the skin using products intended for use on the body. A design can cover a small area, the face and upper chest, or form a complete look.

I develop each design for a specific purpose, such as a photo shoot, performance, show, themed event, advertising campaign or personal artistic project.

Colours and techniques are chosen to suit the lighting, costume, set design, available time and the way the work will be presented – live, on stage, in photographs or on film.

How does a body-painting project work?

The design is intended to be seen under UV lighting at a photo shoot, show or stage event.

We discuss the idea, purpose, date, location and the area of the body to be painted.
We agree on references, colours, costume, props and any collaboration with a photographer or event organiser.
I estimate the working time. A detailed full-body design may take several hours.
Before painting, the skin should be clean, healthy and free from irritation. Preparation details are agreed individually.
After the project, I provide guidance on gently removing the paint and caring for the skin.
